It’s amazing the impact African Americans can have in this election. African Americans feel as if know one knows their story better than someone who experienced it. Obama aims to ensure that Blacks take the steps necessary to produce a change. Barack has spent years of his career fighting for independence and justice for all races: a community organizer in Chicago, a civil rights attorney, an Illinois and U.S. Senator, and law professor. Barack believes if we can put an end to certain political practices, and bring together people as a whole-then we can make a change. Ending the war in Iraq, helping those who want to go to college, and expanding economic opportunity are a few of the issues he plans to tackle in office. His campaign makes it easy for any American to become involved in the voting process. Obama has addressed the NAACP several times; however, this was his first speech as an African American nominee for a major national party. Obama plans to strengthen civil rights enforcement. He also plans to tackle issues concerning people of ethnic decent as a whole: employment discrimination, crime statues, deceptive voting practices, and racial profiling are just a few to name. Barack has helped over 150,000 African Americans to vote. He also passed one of the country’s first racial profiling laws and helped mend a broken death penalty system. He also plans to bring better teachers and programs to the urban schools. With this implemented, Obama believes the dropout will slowly decrease.
